Today Canon presented its versions of instant cameras, and two at once – Canon IVY CLIQ Plus and IVY CLIQ + 2. The instant camera segment has made great strides in quality over the past few years. At the same time, such devices have become quite popular – a number of manufacturers have begun to produce such cameras.
So, just the other day we informed you about the announcement of Fujifilm Instax Square SQ1, and today Canon presented its versions of instant cameras, and two at once – IVY CLIQ and IVY CLIQ + 2. You can see their photos below:
The main difference from competitors is the ability to print full-fledged stickers. These stickers come in a special Peel & Stick Circle cartridge, or rather, it is a special photo paper. It comes in packs of 20 sheets. Such a kit of a cartridge costs 13 US dollars (approximately 10 GBP).
The younger model of the Canon IVY CLIQ camera is considered standalone because it does not require a connection to a smartphone for its operation, although the device itself, as in the case of the older model IVY CLIQ + 2, does not have its own viewfinder. Therefore, so that users can see that they are filming, the developers have equipped the camera with a mirror.
Also, the Canon IVY CLIQ Plus camera has a 5-megapixel sensor. The younger model IVY CLIQ costs 100 US dollars (about 75 GBP), and with discounts even less, only 80 dollars. At the same time, there is no information about whether the novelty will appear outside the United States and Japan.

The older camera IVY CLIQ + 2 has an 8-megapixel sensor. It has the ability to connect to a smartphone using the Canon Mini Print app.
As in the case of the younger model, this camera also lacks a viewfinder, and in order for the user to see what exactly he is going to capture, he will need to connect to a smartphone and activate a special function – “Live View”.
A ring of LEDs can be found around the lens, allowing you to shoot in low light conditions. The camera comes with built-in frames, filters and three modes of operation: landscape, portrait and selfie.
The cost of this new IVY CLIQ + 2 is 150 US dollars (11o GBP), and it can be purchased for 130 US dollars under the promotion. As in the case of the younger Canon IVY CLIQ model, the older IVY CLIQ + 2 is still sold only in the United States and Japan, there is no data on the arrival of the camera in other countries, as well as on its price on the other market. Also, let me remind you that Canon is preparing a big announcement of a movie camera (probably we are talking about the Canon EOS C70). The announcement will take place online at the Canon Vision event on September 24, 2020.
