In New York, the construction of a new skyscraper City within a City, which can be safely called unique, has been completed. It was designed by the Foster + Partners Studio and can be considered a “city within a city” because inside there is everything you need for full-fledged work, life, and leisure.
The new object looks quite unusual even against the background of other skyscrapers. It rises in three sections to a height of 206.45 meters. Three sharp blade-like elements make it recognizable in the architectural ensemble of the Park Avenue area. Between the sections, there are spaces with a variable level of height. Downstairs is a premium restaurant, lobby, and expansive retail space. The building also has a huge hall that can be used for exhibitions.
The skyscraper is formed by a concrete core, and steel fasteners and glazing panels are placed on the front side. This approach to design allows you to significantly expand the available interior space.
A feature of the skyscraper was the transparent floor on the upper levels. Significantly, 425 Park Avenue has received LEED Green Building Gold Standard certification. It makes the most of natural light and fresh air to reduce the need for lighting and air conditioning. The development of the project, which finished in October 2022, began in 2012, and construction in 2015.
